1-30-08:

This evening the Greater Meadowbrook Mineral Leasing Task Force association presidents (plus a pro-bono attorney) met with a representative from one of the gas companies that responded to our January 11 letter.

Next week we have meetings scheduled with two more gas companies, and we have had calls from some additional gas companies which have not yet scheduled meetings with us.

So things are taking shape, and we haven't even reached the February 1 date
that we mentioned in the letter as a requested response date.  More calls
may still be coming.  The task force is not going to discuss the particulars
of these meetings or name the companies we are talking with during this
negotiating phase.

Meanwhile, Holland/Paloma/Chesapeake is pushing all out to get property
owners to sign a lease right away and saying that the signing bonus will
drop back to $3,000/acre on March 1.  It's just another in a long line of
high-pressure sales tactics they have employed to try to convince property
owners that they are going to miss out if they don't sign right away.  Don't
fall for that line.  Please help pass the word to your neighbors who don't
have e-mail.

We don't know how long the negotiation meetings will take because we'll
probably be meeting more than once with the major contenders, but please
wait for us to work this out.

We've done our homework to get to this point, and we are as eager as each of
you is to get to the end of this process and to get a lease that is ready to
sign.

Thanks for your patience and support.
