The City of Fort Worth is attempting to solve the problem of homelessness in the city limits.  Homeless charities and services have been concentrated along the East Lancaster corridor for many years and problems have spilled over into portions of Meadowbrook.

A Mayor's Advisory Committee (MACH) was created in October 2005 to recommend policies, plans and methods for addressing homelessness.

A "Housing First" approach was adopted by the MACH.

The "10- Year Homelessness Plan" Pre-Council Briefing was presented on April 22, 2008.

On June 17, 2008 the City Council will vote on a resolution to adopt the "Directions Home Plan".
